White Paper: Water Reuse

 

By the year 2015, it is estimated that 36 states will face serious water shortages, and water demand is expected to soon outpace water supply in megacities like Los Angeles. Water reuse offers an essential, viable, and drought-proof solution for managing critically limited natural resources. In response to an anticipated global water crisis, investors and policymakers are pressuring corporations to adopt sustainable water practices to improve their “water footprints.” Now being recognized as an area of strategic importance, Coca-Cola, Unilever, and Nestle are just a few of the organizations which have voluntarily committed themselves to monitoring and reducing water usage through programs such as the UN CEO Water Mandate and Global Reporting Initiative.
