Retroreflectivity is a term used to describe a type of reflection that redirects light from headlights back toward the source. For public works organizations, the term is most relevant the condition of street signs. Under recent Federal Highway Administration rules, agencies have until January 2012 to establish and implement a sign assessment or management method that will maintain minimum levels of sign retroreflectivity.
